Dealing with change
Changing your own behavior is an ongoing challenge
Change is difficult without the right approach. Most of our behavior happens automatically, that is, unconsciously. It takes effort to consciously think about things that come naturally. Change means being uncertain of the outcome. Accept that you just have to let go of some things and deal with them in the right way. When a change makes you better, it is because you have learned how to handle a challenging situation to your liking.
Behavior, personality and character
Managing change effectively requires an understanding of the differences between these concepts.
Your character = your biological disposition (innate, relatively unchanging).
Your personality = your qualities that are influenced by upbringing and environment.
Your behavior = how you come across to others through your actions.
By gaining insight into your own character and personality and how that translates into your behavior, Bart helps you better cope with change.
